CWTC Phase 3B Project Breaks Ground

The construction of China World Trade Centre Phase 3B project was begun on 9 May 2012 in Beijing. The 58-storey (280
metres) building will be located to the northeast of the 330 m high China World Tower and has a total GFA of 123,000 sqm,
comprising office, a 600-room hotel and other amenities. According to the developer, the project is designed to achieve
LEED Gold certification and is scheduled to be completed within three to four years. Meanwhile, the Traders Hotel, which
was opened in 1990, will be pulled down and redeveloped during the same period. Once these projects are completed,
CWTC should become the largest World Trade Centre globally, with a land area of 170,000 sqm and a total GFA over one
m illion sqm.
