The Dubai bourse's market gauge DFMGI closed off 0.18%, at 1,476.57 points, ending a two-day gaining streak. Fourteen shares declined, while 10 edged higher. Bellwether share Emaar Properties added 0.70% to reach Dhs2.95. Global investors mostly remained on the sidelines Wednesday as they expect that the U. S. Federal Reserve will decide later today whether or not to extend Operation Twist beyond the previously set level of $400bn to prevent negative spillover effects from the Euro zone debt crisis. In addition, the UAE awaits index provider MSCI's verdict on an upgrade of the Gulf state to 'emergng market' tonight, a move MSCI denied to the UAE (and Qatar four times during the last tw years. Around 103m securities were traded, valued at Dhs160m.
