According to the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural development, the average price of Beijing's
newly constructed housing (inclusive of affordable housing) in the first week of May 2012 (30 April 2012 to 6 May 2012)
increased by 5.2% w-o-w, to over RMB21,000 psm, marking the highest weekly price in 2012. On the other hand,
transaction volume of the newly constructed commodity housing totalled 1,109 units in this week, up nearly 50% compared
to the same period in 2011, two months after the implementation of the home purchase restriction policies.
