Beijing-Shenzhen high speed train to commence operation soon

Test run of the final section of the Beijing-Shenzhen High Speed Rail Line from Anyang to Zhengzhou is in full progress. This section will be connected to the already opened Wuhan-Guangzhou-Shenzhen section.


Construction of the Beijing-Shenzhen High Speed Rail Line commenced in 2005. The section from Guangzhou to Changsha was completed in December 2009. Other sections, from Shenzhen to Guangzhou and from Changsha to Wuhan were subsequently completed in 2011.


Upon full completion of the Hong Kong section in 2015, the Beijing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High Speed Rail Line will be the longest high speed rail link in China covering a total distance of approximately 2,360 km. The journey from Beijing to Shenzhen willtakeonly about 9 hours.
