Kerry Ching started at AMP Capital in Hong Kong today
Australian fund manager AMP Capital has announced the appointment of Kerry Ching as its new managing director for Asia ex-Japan to build the company’s presence in the region.
Ching started at the firm today based in Hong Kong, where she will focus on managing key client relationships along with institutional sales and business development.
Formerly she worked at Fidelity Investment Management, where she was country head for Hong Kong and responsible for institutional, wholesale and retail direct business.
She has also worked at UBS Global Asset management as a managing director covering Asia ex-Japan, as well as at Invesco as CEO in Hong Kong and head of institutional business for Asia.
She will report directly to AMP Capital’s director of international business Anthony Fasso, who in a statement says her hire reflects the firm’s commitment to growing in Asia.
“This builds on our recent establishment of a new Asian equities team based in Hong Kong,” he says. The firm also has a global listed real estate portfolio management team in the city.”
AMP Capital manages around A$125 billion ($131 billion) in real estate, infrastructure, fixed income, active equities, multi-manager and multi-asset portfolios. Of this, A$8.5 billion is for clients from Asia.
