Master Management Group starts commercialization on Galeria Aviator
Jun 11, 2012
Master Management Group has announced it will be exclusively responsible for leasing Galeria Aviator, a new shopping scheme to be developed in the southern city of Mielec, Poland. MMG will also handle the marketing activity for the new shopping centre.
Galeria Aviator will be a family oriented shopping and entertainment centre with a shopping mall, a DIY store, a hypermarket and a cinema, as well as numerous cafés and restaurants. As part of the investment, a public square will also be created, with a fountain and outside seating in the summer season. SooN Architekci of Warsaw will design the architectural project. The modern shape and facade of the building will correspond with the aviation tradition of Mielec.
The scheme will comprise two principal elements: an enclosed single-floor shopping mall with a GLA of ca. 30,000 sqm, and a neighbouring building that will house a DIY store, with a GLA of 8,500 sqm. The shopping mall will include several dozen stores, a hypermarket, a food court with cafés and restaurants, and a 4-screen cinema. The centre will be served by 1,200 parking spaces at ground level. Galeria Aviator will be the first large shopping centre in Mielec and the surrounding region. The catchment area includes over 60,000 inhabitants within less than 10 minutes’ drive, and another 100,000 between 10 and 30 minutes’ drive.
“We can see a lot of interest from tenants due to the potential of Mielec, which currently suffers from a shortage of modern retail space. We are in advanced talks with tenants – including a hypermarket operator,” said Michał Masztakowski, Leasing and Development Director with the Master Management Group.
The developer of the project is Kullar Gobi Polska, a company co-owned by Adam Morgaś, Wojciech Ostasz and Adam Majkut, who have significant experience in the development of shopping schemes, as well as residential projects in a number of cities in Poland. Currently the developer is applying for a building permit. The start of construction work, subject to required permits, is scheduled for the turn of 2012 and 2013. The developer will first build the DIY store, planned to open in Q3 2013. Completion of the entire scheme is scheduled for Q4 2014.
