Far East Organization (FEO) has re-opened Hougang 1, following the completion of renovation works at the two-storey mall.
The revamped 86,000 sq ft mall now features modern interiors, an updated façade and improved retail layout that includes a varied mix of key retail, service and dining options.
Unveiled in 1999, the mall was closed in October last year after over 10 years of operation to make way for renovation works.
"We recognize that Hougang 1 is an important anchor in the Hougang New Town community and lives of residents in the vicinity," commented Kelvin Ling, Chief Operating Officer, Retail Business Group of FEO.
"With the recent revamp, we aim to provide residents with a better mall experience, as well as a selection of retail options, F&B choices and services that will meet the needs of the area's population."
Some of the returning tenants are KFC, McDonalds', Sakae Sushi and Watsons. New brands include Gong Cha, Wang Café, HangTen and Delifrance. Kopitiam also returned as tenant in July.
"We are very excited to return to a refreshed Hougang 1 mall and have reopened as a 24-hour outlet," commented Alden Tan, Managing Director at Kopitiam Investment.
