New development expected in KLCC

KLCC Property Holdings Bhd (KLCCP) plan to launch a 3.5 million sq ft development in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). The development will comprise of office space, retail space and a hotel.


KLCCP made the announcement at the launch of Malaysia’s Iconic Experience in Kuala Lumpur (MIEKL)


MIEKL consists of 11 attractions within the KLCC precinct. Petronas Twin Towers, Suria KLCC, KLCC Park, Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, Petrosains, Galeri Petronas, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Aquaria KLCC, Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur and Impiana KLCC Hotel according to The Sun Daily.


The aim of MIEKL is to showcase KLCC as a “city within a city” that offers accommodation, shopping, food, leisure, entertainment, convention and business facilities.


Group CEO of KLCC Property Holdings Bhd, Hashim Wahir expects the venture to increase growth in the area.


"With the launch of MIEKL, we expect an annual 5% growth from the 40 million visitors that throng the 11 attractions yearly” he said.
