Situated along the south shores of Sentosa, Capella Singapore is an empyrean estate to call one’s home.

By Tina Hsiao

Set amongst 30 acres of mature trees and patrolled by an ostentation of resident peacocks, Capella is raising the bar for exquisite living the region over. In addition to a 111-key hotel, Capella Singapore offers long-stay options ranging from 893 to 5,640 sq ft of stately accommodation. The 82 homes, collectively called The Club at Capella Singapore, comprise one- to four-bedroom suites, three-bedroom duplex penthouses, two-bedroom contemporary manors, and three-bedroom Capella Manors for monthly rental ranging from S$11,000 to S$50,000 (US$8,799 to US$39,997).

In February, one of the two Colonial Manors, previously exclusively for short-term resort rental, was released into The Club. The three-bedroom residence starts from S$42,000 (US$33,597) per month, which may sound steep, but with 436 square metres (1,430 sq ft) of space to call home, the S$29.35 (US$23.48) per square foot rental is a steal vis-à-vis an apartment on Orchard Road, which are smaller than a third in size at nearly quadruple the rate per sqf. Constructed in the 1880s, the Colonial Manors are two of four heritage-listed buildings in the Capella complex, and with its architecture impeccably restored and interior furnished by Lord Norman Foster and Jaya Ibrahim respectively, the manors are not only living masterpieces of art, but living moments of history.

In-room amenities feature all the homely luxury necessities, including meticulously-appointed living spaces, cosy bedrooms, fully equipped Miele kitchens, and in all the manors, a private pool flanked with spacious sun decks. Should the need arise for residents to stretch their legs, they can avail themselves at any of the resort facilities, including three swimming pools and three F&B outlets — fine Cantonese dining at Cassia, Mediterranean fare at The Knolls, and the inviting Bob’s Bar. Residents can also pamper themselves with a choice of treatments at the 12,000 sqft Auriga Spa — named after the constellation anchored by its brightest star, Capella — or curl up with a magazine and snacks at The Library. For The Club guests who wish for privacy away from the short-term holidaymakers, there’s The Clubhouse, an exclusive domain for long-term guests. Breakfast is served on a complimentary basis on weekdays, and residents can also enjoy the long lap pool, gym, and lounge.

Monthly activities and regular get-togethers are organised to welcome any newcomers and promote a sense of community amongst Club residents. For any other details, club executives and front desk assistants are on standby around the clock to offer their bespoke services, be it arranging for a babysitter or private chef. Palawan Beach sits just outside the Capella grounds yonder, with two private access points providing a convenient beach getaway for residents and guests. Club residents receive preferential access to the greens at Sentosa Golf Club, while marine enthusiasts can charter a yacht to explore the the big blue from ONE°15 Marina, located just a short drive away. With the comfort of a true home, an array of personalised services, and the wide range of exclusive privileges, it is not surprising that The Club at Capella Singapore has already seen residents signing leases of up to 10 years.
